The reason I was spending a week in a stunning Italian countryside was to celebrate the love of two gorgeous people. Deciding what to wear to a wedding abroad is always tricky. Here are a few tips and pointers to get you started!
Italians are famous for being fashion addicted which means wedding guests will be wearing the most gorgeous and elegant outfits. Therefore dress up!
Bright colours always look great in a hot climate and also can make you look more glamorous. I chose a guipure lace dress in a very beautiful shade of red from Self-Portrait which has been internet famous for quite a while now. Quite a few celebrities and bloggers have been spotting wearing this dress and doesn’t seem that the hype is going anywhere.
And I really think it’s definitely worth the hype. What makes this dress so special is is the construction. The bodice is well structured and provides an elegant shape to the midsection. The thick, nude lining runs almost the length of the dress and it really gives an impressive cage effect to the skirt. It’s the perfect dress for any summer event or any semi-formal occasion when you want to look glamorous and elegant.
I paired it with black jewellery and tied a black ribbon to accentuate my waist. Coco Chanel and Christian Dior were huge fans of ribbons a long time ago and the trend is coming back. It adds a touch of femininity and sophistication to the overall look.
I took photos outside the B&B I stayed – il Torrione. If you are ever visiting Castiglione del Lago I am highly recommending this place. I’ve never experienced such a fantastic service and the garden and the views were truly magical.
I was so privileged to be there, it was a fairy tale wedding on a the Umbrian hillside with the most stunning views I will never forget.
