What To Wear On Christmas Day

Christmas Day can be celebrated in so many different ways – from a casual family lunch to a formal dinner. Whatever you are doing this year, do it in style.

Whatever your traditions at Christmas, it is always nice to pick a stand-out outfit to mark the occasion. A bit of glitz and glamour is a must and can be incorporated in a number of different ways. My recent obsession is this gorgeous jumpsuit in red by Omar Mansoor. It is sexy, chic, festive but also feels very comfortable – a perfect outfit that will accommodate a few mulled wines and a big lunch.

For me personally the appeal of the jumpsuit is primarily an attitude thing – it instantly makes you feel sassy in a Beyoncé kind of a way. Also, it’s as easy to style as a dress (you only need to add statement jewellery) but you feel less exposed, and you don’t have to agonise over the tights/no tights issue – the dilemma all of us are facing in winter. (For the record: no tights. No one ever died of cold ankles.)

If you have never worn the jumpsuit before it can be a little bit intimidating as if not worn correctly jumpsuits can make you look sloppy, shorter and wider than you are, so make sure you read 5 Style Hacks How To Wear A Jumpsuit For A Formal Occasion and you will see it’s much easier than you think.

Style Tip

If you want to wear an open back jumpsuit in winter but you are afraid of feeling cold, wear a sequin or lace top underneath the jumpsuit. It will keep you warm but won’t destroy the silhouette and will add an unexpected touch to the outfit.
