Pretty In Pink

perfect spring coat - LifestyleFashionista

Very often pink is viewed as saccharine and overly feminine. Not anymore! Pink is having a major make-over. So forget the baby-related images evoked by this shade. It is undoubtedly feminine colour however dusty pink can be extremely sexy and even super chic making a new statement “pretty and powerful in pink”. This season rose quartz is one of two of Pantone’s Colors of the Year so pink is taking over in many collections. So if you want to look trendy this is the colour to wear at the moment.

For me personally pastels always symbolise spring. It feels so refreshing to replace dark and moody shades with lighter hues. And pink particularly screams “Hello Spring!”.

The key to look modern and not overly sweet in pink is to go for a bit masculine pieces. And this is what I did. I chose an over-sized coat and paired it with trousers which instantly added a bit of edge to the outfit.

My favourite piece of the outfit is patent burgundy ankle booties which compliments pink very beautifully but also adds a modern touch. And they are extremely comfortable to walk in.

  1. Your right, there is so many ways that you can toughen up pink and it is a great colour to welcome in Spring! FYI I clocked your shoes as the KG £90 ones I have been lusting for but it turns out they are Asos and only 32.99. I have next day delivery and that could prove dangerous lol!

  2. I absolutely love Rose Quartz right now but I’m too scared to try it out! You do a great job of making it look grown-up and sexy rather than childish or sweet. And I am in love with your bag in this outfit!
