LFW Day 3: Fei Fei Cicada Show

During LFW day 3 I attended Fei Fei Cicada’s debut show at V&A museum. She presented very theatrical and opulent collection which was showcased among ancient sculptures. But before I headed to my favourite museum in London I had a photoshoot in Soho to show what I was wearing during that day. I went for a silk dress in oriental print. I absolutely adore silk dresses, nothing beats the lavish feel of silk on skin. Also it makes me feel so feminine and sexy in a very subtle way.

To add a bit of a colour to the outfit I wore colourful heels from Sophia Webster and added a clutch bag with a fringe for a trendy and youthful feel.

Known for her lavish and elaborate designs, it is no surprise that this season’s Fei Fei Cicada show would be presented at the Victoria and Albert Museum in South Kensington. The location’s main foyer, situated beneath the dome and a magnificent glass chandelier, created a circular catwalk.

Behind the label is Fei Feng, a graduate of Central Saint Martins, who has undoubtedly taken influence from internships at Alexander McQueen and John Galliano, as evidenced in the theatricality of her pieces. Past collections have seen Feng take inspiration from Chinese porcelain, tapestries, paintings and calligraphy. As soon as the models floated through golden velvet curtains, to the sound of classical music, the space was transformed into a period drama. There were moments where it felt as if they had walked directly out of a Renaissance painting.

My favourite part was after the runway show when the designer walked through the audience, leading us towards the museum’s Cast Courts, where the models stood dotted amongst sculptures, pillars and beneath doorways. It definitely created a wow factor – models became live sculptures that you could walk around and have a very close look at clothes. A truly spectacular night.
