LFW Day 2: Peter Jensen & Mother of Pearl Runway Shows

LFW day 2 was the busiest and the most exciting day of the whole week. It started by attending Peter Jensen’s presentation at Institute of Contemporary Arts and then rushing to Mother of Pearl runway show.

I wanted to look effortlessly chic with casual vibes. Lace skirt and bracelet definitely was my glamour element while denim jacket helped to dressed down the overall look a bit.

The bracelet made by Wayuu artisans from Colombia sold by Castellano Ethnic Origins was ideal match for the outfit. I am in love with colours and ethnic weaves which were decorated by Swarovski crystals.

And of course you can not forget to wear heels during a fashion show.

As I mentioned my day started with Peter Jensen’s presentation where in a skeleton greenhouse, surrounded by bouquets of gloriously tall, colourful foxgloves, Peter Jensen showcased his SS17 collection and his love for gardening.

His collection included a range of classic A-line dresses and sweaters in a myriad of vivacious prints, cuts and colours.

The second show of the day was Mother of Pearl SS17 runway show at Christ Church in Spitafields. It was my favourite collection of all the shows I’ve seen this week. Not only Amy Powney unearthed the 1989 film anthology New York Stories, comprised of shorts by Francis Ford Coppola, Woody Allen, and Martin Scorsese and took a little from each of the films, but she made terrific use of that source material, to boot. The connecting element was the signature Mother of Pearl sportiness, dialed down a notch here but nevertheless evidenced in winks such as a tweed hoodie or ruffle-hem track pants, and the pieces in raw-edged denim. It was a collection for a woman in charge of her own sexiness, flaunting and checking it in equal measure.

Thank you so much for reading!
