Folk dresses were featured in many autumn/winter 2015-2016 collections, including Burberry Prorsum, Temperley, Thakoon, Anna Sui, Chloe and more. This season there was more emphasis on Russian and European cultures. So dresses with long sleeves, stand out print and luxe embroidery are particularly in vogue. My look was inspired by Valentino folk dresses. I love rich colours and a fair amount of embroidery which gives a very luxurious feeling. However I have to admit it’s not the easiest trend to pull off. There is only one rule to remember – go for a modern silhouette and pair it with trendy accessories if you don’t want to end up looking like you stepped out from the pages of a history book.I’ve never thought that I am going to love the folk dresses trend so much but once I tried the dress I keep wearing it everywhere. It’s perfect for a dinner date or drinks and you also don’t look too dressed up during a day. The dress stands out and looks very chic and stylish. I can’t imagine a better dress for a winter or autumn season.
